Aim
This course aims to develop technical, tactical, physical, mental and social aspects that are required of the modern goalkeeper and goalkeeper coach.
Coaches gain greater knowledge of analysing, creating, organising, conducting and evaluating sessions in advanced skills, tactics, strategies and systems of play.
About
The final stage of our goalkeeper coach education pathway is our FAW/UEFA A Licence, Coaching Goalkeepers. It gives coaches an understanding of how to apply modern methods of sports science and research. In addition to the course contacts listed there will also be sessions which are held in micro groups and at clubs, with the support of UEFA Qualified FAW mentors, these contacts will be devised once candidates are placed into their micro groups following the first course contact. Coaches are continually assessed on their theory and practical ability.
Outcome
Following successful completion of our online modules, distance learning tasks, and ongoing mentoring programme, candidates will gain the UEFA GK A Licence qualification.
Who the course is for?
To apply for the UEFA A Licence, applicants must meet the criteria detailed below.
Essential
- FAW /UEFA B Licence, Coaching Goalkeepers (Level 3, or equivalent)
- FAW/UEFA B Licence (Level 3, or equivalent)
Plus one of the following:
- Cymru / Adran Premier Goalkeeper Coach
- GK Coach working with U16+ players
- Professional (full time)
Course Discount
To receive the discounted rate, candidates must meet the below criteria:
- Born or coaching in Wales &
- UEFA B Licence holder or capped for Wales at u16, u17, u19, u21, u23 or Senior Level

Application Process
To complete the application process please upload the following evidence to the Coach Education Learning Management System (LMS). After the initial registration, you will receive an automated email with login details for the LMS.
Please submit your application, enclosing the following:
- Covering letter
- CV
- Club support letter
- Copy of UEFA B Diploma
Deadline for completed applications: 12pm, Friday 28th November 2025.
All successful and unsuccessful applicants will be informed of the decision by no later than Friday 30 January 2026.
