Our domestic FAW/UEFA B Licence course gives coaches the necessary skills and experience to work with players aged U12 and above. The Welsh Way principles, as set-out in the FAW National Syllabus, are embedded into the course to provide a focus. The domestic course involves theory and online modules, which underpin practical elements.
About
The FAW/UEFA B Licence course is designed to develop game understanding and technical and tactical knowledge, via a combination of practical sessions, theory, distance and e-learning. The course is made up of three online classroom dates, followed by six in-person contacts.
Outcome
Coaches should feel confident, creative and enthused when taking sessions at their clubs. UEFA B Licence coaches should be students of the game and be comfortable adapting and applying their knowledge in various scenarios.
Discounted Rate
To receive the discounted rate, candidates must be educated through the FAW Coach Education Programme and meet one of the below criteria:
- Coaching in Wales
- Resident in Wales
- Born in Wales
- Capped for Wales at Youth or Senior level
Eligibility
To be admitted to a FAW/UEFA B coaching diploma course, candidates must:
- Meet all of the course pre-requisites
- Possess sufficient spoken and written skills in English
- Have no criminal record for crimes incompatible with the coaching profession
- Living in the UK (Coaches living outside the UK can apply for the intensive at UEFA B Intensive – FAW Coach Education)
Application Process
Please submit your application, enclosing a CV, support letter from your club and a copy of your UEFA C Licence certificate (No other qualification can be accepted).
The documents will need to be uploaded to your ‘MyDocuments’ section on your lms.faw.cymru account. Further details will be emailed after your initial application.
The supporting letter must include, as a minimum.
- Confirmation that all information contained in the individual’s application is accurate
- Confirmation of the applicant’s current role within the club
- Any other relevant information
- Signed by an authorised signatory of the club.
