The Introduction to Coaching Goalkeepers Award will provide a basic and engaging introduction to the organisation of goalkeeper-specific practices in a fun, safe environment with an emphasis on engaging with the players of today.

About

The award provides learners with an opportunity to discover and consider the technical and social support that we, as coaches, can provide to our players, discussing various practical aspects. These include: the importance of area size, practice transitions, progressions and regressions, as well as ensuring the learner takes a closer look at themselves, their role as a coach, and how they currently share the messages they provide players.

This course is solely online, can be completed in your own time and will NOT require attendance at a Practical Day.

Please Note:

For those coaching in Wales, individuals are not permitted to be left in sole charge of a football session until reaching eighteen (18) years of age. There must be an adult (18+) who has an enhanced DBS check for regulated activity through the FAW, in attendance at all times if children under the age of 18 are coaching. Upon reaching the age of sixteen (16) coaches must apply for a DBS check through the FAW.
