    Aim

    The course is framed within our ‘Welsh Way’ Principles of Play, additionally we fundamentally aim to create coaches who have the capacity to plan and design meaningful practice, adapt to the varied contexts to develop the individual, into the unit, within a team. The course gives coaches the necessary skills and experience to work with players aged U12 and above.

    About

    The course is delivered through flexible teaching methods, via online, theory and practical contacts by our highly skilled mentoring staff who will challenge the individual needs of the coach within their own context. Individual mentoring, support and feedback is provided before and after the two on course assessments. Candidates are required to complete 100% of the online and in person contacts, with the course designed to be completed by no longer than 12 months after the first contact.

    Outcome

    • Understand and demonstrate the key moments of the game within a principle-based and unit-based practice
    • Develop a more in depth understanding of the Welsh Way across the five pillars
    • Understand types of interventions & different coaching styles
    • Develop and demonstrate a greater understanding of coaching the individual into the unit within a team

    Eligibility

    To be admitted to a FAW/UEFA B coaching diploma course, candidates must:

    • Meet all of the course pre-requisites
    • Possess sufficient spoken and written skills in English
    • Have no criminal record for crimes incompatible with the coaching profession

    Application Process

    Please submit your application, enclosing a CV and support letter from your club and a copy of your UEFA C Licence certificate (No other qualification can be accepted).

    The documents will need to be uploaded to your ‘MyDocuments’ section on your lms.faw.cymru account. Further details will be emailed after your initial application.

    The supporting letter must include, as a minimum.

    • Confirmation that all information contained in the individual’s application is accurate
    • Confirmation of the applicant’s current role within the club
    • Any other relevant information
    • Signed by an authorised signatory of the club.

    Please Note: Any application submitted without the required documents will not be considered by the admissions panel.
