Supporting Your Club’s Volunteers

At the heart of every grassroots football club is a team of dedicated and hard-working volunteers. However, without the right support, even the best volunteers can feel disengaged and unmotivated. It’s vital that all volunteers feel properly supported in their role. It’s important to understand how to motivate and support your club’s volunteer workforce, as well as manage any performance or conduct issues effectively. This often requires a variety of skills such as empathy, clear communication and the ability to provide feedback. This course builds on our short course, Recruiting and retaining volunteers, and we recommend that you complete that course first. This course is suitable for anyone who is currently responsible for recruiting, managing or supporting volunteers at a grassroots football club in Wales.
